Latour 2011 ex-Chateau released

Seven years later, the last vintage that Latour sold En Primeur has now been re-released ex-Chateau.

Latour 2011 ex-Chateau release vs other vintages

Latour 2011 was offered yesterday morning at €450 per bottle ex-negociant, up 2.3% on the ex-negociant price of €440 per bottle in 2012.

Yesterday's release is being offered in the UK at £5,460 per 12x75, up 13.7% on its En Primeur release price of £4,800 per 12x75. The wine had fallen in value since 2012, and now commands a Market Price of £440 per 12x75. It last traded at $4,200 per case in July this year.

Latour reportedly released 2,000 cases of its 2011 vintage ex-Chateau yesterday morning. The release price positions the wine above all other "off-vintages" available on the market such as 2001, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Five years ago, when reviewing Latour 2011 in bottle, Robert Parker called it "one of the vintage's most compelling wines". According to Parker (93-95), "this beautifully rich, savory Latour will be surprisingly drinkable in 4-5 years, and should age easily for two decades or more".
